AKFO Ltd (company number 17348229), trading as AnimalKind, is the controller of the personal information described in this notice. AKFO Ltd is owned by MAHG Ltd, trading as AnimalKind Group. Information we collect
When you join the waitlist, we collect the information you provide, including your first and last name, email address, preferred AnimalKind practice, pet type, pet name and pet life stage, together with your communication and privacy choices.
We also receive limited technical and usage information when you use the site, such as device and browser data, IP address, referral information and cookie or similar-technology data. The precise data depends on your consent choices and the services used on the page.
How we use your information
We use personal information only when we have a lawful basis. Our main purposes and lawful bases are:
- to record and manage your founding-member waitlist request — to take steps at your request before entering a contract;
- to contact you about your chosen practice, opening plans and how to secure a founding membership — consent where the message is marketing, or steps before contract where it responds to your request;
- to send news, offers or other marketing where you have chosen to receive it — consent;
- to answer questions and provide customer support — our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries;
- to operate, secure and improve the website and diagnose faults — our legitimate interests in running a safe and effective service;
- to prevent fraud, misuse or security incidents — our legitimate interests and, where relevant, legal obligations;
- to maintain records, demonstrate compliance and handle legal claims — legal obligations and legitimate interests.
We do not sell your personal information. Please do not submit clinical records, payment data or other sensitive information through the waitlist form.
Who we share information with
We use service providers to operate the website and waitlist, including Webflow for website hosting, HubSpot for the embedded form and contact management, and Google reCAPTCHA for abuse prevention. We may also share information with professional advisers, insurers, regulators, courts or law-enforcement bodies where necessary.
Providers act under their own notices or our instructions as applicable. If information is processed outside the UK, we use an applicable lawful transfer mechanism, such as UK adequacy regulations or approved contractual safeguards.
How long we keep information
We keep waitlist information while we prepare to open the selected practice and for a reasonable period afterwards to administer follow-up, unless you ask us to delete it sooner or we must retain it for legal reasons. Marketing records are kept until you withdraw consent or unsubscribe, with a minimal suppression record retained so we can honour that choice. Technical and security records are kept only as long as reasonably necessary.
Marketing
We send marketing only where permitted by law. You can withdraw consent or unsubscribe at any time using the link in a message or by emailing hello@animalkind.co. This will not affect service messages needed to respond to a request you made.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use essential technologies required for the site and form to work. Analytics, advertising or other non-essential technologies are used only after any consent required by law. See our Cookie Notice for the current categories, providers, purposes and controls.
Your data-protection rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or restrict your information, object to certain processing, receive portable data and withdraw consent. Security and children
We use appropriate organisational and technical measures designed to protect personal information. No online service is completely secure, so please use the waitlist form only for the information requested.
The waitlist is intended for adults arranging veterinary care. We do not knowingly collect waitlist details directly from children. A parent or guardian who believes a child has submitted information should contact us.
Changes and contact
We may update this notice when our services or legal obligations change. The latest version will appear on this page with a revised date.
